Laziz Sultanov.

Laziz Sultanov

Partner

 

Laziz Sultanov brings nearly 15 years of expertise in public accounting and corporate finance. After completing his MBA with a concentration in Accounting, Laziz initially worked in corporate finance before transitioning to public accounting. Over the years, he has worked with regional, national, and global public accounting firms, with a focus on both profit and non-profit enterprises. Laziz possesses a deep understanding of ASPE, IFRS, US GAAP, PSAS, and ASNPO (Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations). He holds CPA designations in Ontario and Washington State (USA) and has successfully led numerous audit engagements for small and medium size private companies and non-profit organizations across Ontario. Laziz became a partner at Freeman & Lourenco, LLP in 2024. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering, and playing soccer.

Matt Hossack graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Accounting (Co-op, Honours) in 2006. He joined Freeman & Lourenco in 2008 and earned his Chartered Accountant designation in 2009. Over the years, Matt has played an integral role in numerous assurance and compilation engagements. His deep expertise in accounting standards, coupled with his dedication to serving small- and medium-sized businesses as well as individuals, has made him a trusted advisor and a valuable asset to his clients. In 2023, Matt became a partner at the firm.

Jeff Freeman

Jeff Freeman

Jeff Freeman has worked at Freeman & Lourenco since 2011. Jeff obtained his Chartered Accountant designation shortly after while with the firm. He became a partner of the firm in 2016 and has held his public accounting license since 2018. Through his many years of experience Jeff has continued to grow his expertise in all areas the firm offers services. He has built a reputation for going beyond client services to build meaningful relationships with his clients based on honesty, trust and a commitment to helping his clients achieve their goals. Jeff is an active community member. He is a former member of the Whitby Rotary Club and is involved in coaching both Whitby Minor Hockey and Whitby Minor Baseball. His hobbies include all things sports, travel, volunteering in the community and spending time his wife Cortnie and three boys.

Troy Huang earned his Master of Management and Professional Accounting from the University of Toronto in 2015. With nearly 10 years of experience in public accounting and corporate finance, he has developed a strong focus on providing professional services to business owners of small- to mid-sized organizations. His goal is to offer practical, tailored solutions and act as a trusted business advisor to his clients. In 2024, Troy became a partner at Freeman & Lourenco, LLP. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering, and engaging in outdoor sports.

Lindsay Lourenco

Senior Manager, Assurance, Tax, and Business Advisory Services

Lindsay Lourenco has been a key member of the firm since 2010. She graduated from Wilfred Laurier University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Co-op option) in 2006 and completed her Chartered Accountant designation in 2007. Furthering her expertise, she completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Program in 2017. Lindsay is experienced in both profit and not-for-profit organizations and provides a full range of auditing, tax, and advisory services. Outside of work, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband Allen and their four sons, Nathan, Nolan, Colton and Sawyer.

Fred is known for his friendly, timely, and accurate service, helping clients with personal income tax return preparation since 2013. Prior to his role with the firm, Fred spent over four decades at Valiant Bank AG and CIBC, where he honed his expertise in banking, accounting, and financial services. Junior Accountant and Bookkeeper

Roberta Olan joined Freeman & Lourenco in 2016 as the Office Administrator/Bookkeeper and was promoted to Junior Accountant in 2022. With extensive experience in office management and bookkeeping, she has worked for both large and small corporations. Roberta now assists senior accountants with audit fieldwork and the completion of audits for charities, as well as for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Her passion lies in identifying and solving client issues, and she is known for her personalized and detail-oriented service.

Douglas R. Freeman has served as the Senior Partner at Freeman & Lourenco LLP since January 1, 2016. With over four decades of experience in public accounting, Doug has built a career dedicated to providing expert guidance and practical solutions to businesses of all sizes. Prior to joining Freeman & Lourenco, Doug operated his own practice as a sole practitioner from 1979 to 2015. Over the years, Doug has become known for his personalized approach and deep commitment to his clients, delivering tailored sevices to help them succeed. As he approaches retirement in the coming months, Doug remains dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition for his clients and colleagues.
