Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Oshawa, ON
We are seeking a senior accountant with the expertise to make an immediate impact and contribute meaningfully to our team. Job Requirements and Skills:

Completion of or currently working toward a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in public accounting.

Experience in assurance, accounting, and tax.

Solid understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles.

Proficiency with accounting and tax software such as Caseware, Cantax, Quickbooks, and Simply Accounting. Experience with other accounting and tax software is also considered an asset.

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and highly computer literate overall.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Conduct financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations (Notice to Readers) for small to large private and not-for-profit entities.

Identify, analyze, and resolve accounting issues.

Prepare tax returns (T1, T2 & T3), including tax and regulatory forms (T4, T5, T5018, HST, EHT, WSIB, etc.).

Apply knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE, ASNPO, etc.).

Respond to client questions and queries in a timely and professional manner.

Raise identified technical issues with engagement managers and partners.

Set up files for new clients and assist newly incorporated businesses.

Work with accounting software and provide support to clients.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with client management.

Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.

Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned.
